Staff Scientist/Environmental Technician

Locations

Education & Experience

BS Degree in environmental science, engineering, or another related scientific field (This is an excellent position for a graduate student looking for summer employment!)

 

Training

Must possess or be willing to obtain upon hiring:

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification;
  • Adult First Aid/CPR; and
  • An Environmental Sampler Training Class.

Position Type

Seasonal, April – September

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, collecting environmental samples in soil and groundwater and assisting with contaminated site characterization and monitoring. Field work may require overtime, weekends, and travel. Must be able to lift 30 pounds, work outdoors in all weather, be able to obtain military base access, and have own transportation.

 

Compensation

Starting pay negotiable depending on experience. Paid holidays for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day.

 


 

Professional Engineer

Locations

Education & Experience

Licensed as a PE in state of Alaska, other PNW states a bonus.

 

Training

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to management of team of EIT’s, water and wastewater design, road design, technical report writing, familiarity with environmental report writing and project plans, environmental field experience a plus.  Examples of projects that you may be assigned are assisting with drinking water and wastewater/septic design, foundation design, developing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans, Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, sampling groundwater and soil, assisting with contaminated site management and spill response, writing National Environmental Policy Act documents, and permitting. Field work may require overtime, weekends, and travel throughout Alaska. Must be able to lift 30 pounds, work outdoors in all weather, obtain military base access, and have own transportation. We may also need you to assist our survey team.

 

Compensation

Environmental Engineer

Education & Experience

B.S. Degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering, ideally with Engineer-In-Training designation.

 

Training

Must possess or be willing to obtain upon hiring:

  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification;
  • Adult First Aid/CPR;
  • An Environmental Sampler Training Class; and
  • Alaska Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (AK-CESCL).

Land Surveying Technician

Location

Fairbanks, Alaska

 

Education

Preferably an ABET-accredited degree, or Associate’s degree in Geomatics or Land Surveying, or High School Diploma and an interest in surveying!

 

Training

No prior experience required, 1-5 years of Professional Land Surveying experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, field surveying: assisting Party Chief with various land surveying activities such as monument recovery and resets, topographic and boundary surveying and construction staking, survey equipment setup, maintenance and management. Office work, including, but not limited to: performing surveying math and computations, field data processing, Civil3D drafting such as surface creation and boundary drawing and design, assist in the preparation of maps and plats, read and interpret legal descriptions, uploading and downloading field data. Field work may require overtime, weekends, and travel across Alaska. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather and obtain Military and Air Force base access.

Land Surveying Rodman

Location

Fairbanks, Alaska

 

Education

High School Diploma and an interest in surveying!

 

Training

Prior experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting Party Chief with various land surveying activities such as monument recovery and resets, topographic and boundary surveying and construction staking, Survey equipment setup, maintenance and management, performing less complex surveying math and computations, assist in the preparation of maps and plats, read and interpret legal descriptions, uploading and downloading field data. Field work may require overtime, weekends, and travel across Alaska. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, work outdoors in all weather and obtain military base access.

 

Compensation

Starting pay negotiable depending on experience. Paid holidays for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Where applicable this position qualifies for Davis-Bacon (prevailing) pay rates.
